Arizona Power Save has become an Building Performance Institute Accredited Organization www.bpi.org to help green minded home owners, business owners and contractors identify and perform quality “Green Energy Upgrades” our name for comprehensive (i.e., whole-building) energy efficiency improvements that improve the building comfort and indoor air quality while lowering energy consumption. We are an energy efficiency organization dedicated to improving both residential and commercial energy efficiency and offer renewable energy solutions in Arizona.

Arizona Power Save now helps contractors build and grow their green contracting business through training in building performance principles, business marketing, and sales. We also provide referrals and ongoing technical support and training.

BPI Certification Training

Building Analyst Workshop and Certification

BA-101

Description: This workshop will prepare candidates for certification from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). The course covers health and safety issues, building airflow, building and insulation evaluation, combustion safety and carbon monoxide protection, envelope and duct leakage testing and repairs.

This certification is required for the APS Duct Test and Repair Program and to become a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor.

Five days including written and field certification exams.

Building Analyst Certification ONLY

BA-102

Description: This course is for candidates who feel they have adequate industry experience or have taken the Building Analyst Workshop and Certification course previously. They may forego the course work and proceed directly to testing. In order to receive a BPI certification card, candidates must pass both the field and written exams.

This Certification is required for the APS Duct Test and Repair Program and to become a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor.

Three and 1/2 days to complete the written and field certification exam.

Envelope Specialist Workshop and Certification

ES-101

Description: This workshop will prepare candidates for certification from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). The course includes a brief review of some of the Building Analyst requirements and covers the more advanced principles and applications techniques required for the Shell/Envelope Specialist certification.

Three days including written and field certification exam.
